The Studio Log

The Studio Log 1996The Studio Log was first published in 1996 (pictured left) to catalogue all Jimi's studio recordings in chronological order with full details of personnel and location etc. So much new information had surfaced and so many previously unheard recordings have been released that a new edition was imperative. And here it is - The Studio Log 2008 Edition (pictured right). 148 pages in much improved, easier to read format.

The Studio Log 2008The book opens with an alphabetical listing of all tracks and the dates they were worked on, this is followed by the full chronological listing, the main purpose of the book. You also get a review of posthumous activity with the Hendrix catalogue and a full breakdown of all home recordings that have surfaced.

This is an indispensible reference for any student of Hendrix recordings.

Goldmine review

"The authors present the information in a variety of ways that make it easy to track down the details users will seek, including alphabetical listings of all of the tracks and the dates on which they were recorded; releases by date; missing four-track demos; a brief review of posthumous activity and Hendrix’s home recordings. If you’re a rabid Jimi Hendrix collector, this book is a must-have reference tool."
